LOUISVILLE, Ky. -- The deal isn't done yet, but investors in Louisville's effort to get a pro soccer team say its close.
Investors say they hope to have a deal "in the next month" to bring the Orlando City Soccer Club to Louisville. The agreement would make Louisville Slugger Field the team's home starting for the 2015 season. Supporters say they have already received over 1,500 season ticket commitments and investors say they are still looking for people to join the ownership group for $25,000 or $12,500 for a half share.
Investor Justin Brown says the city is fully supportive of the idea and has offered to update Louisville Slugger Field to accommodate the team.
